Health Matters: How Qigong Can Help With The Stresses Of Life – An Introduction and Taster
Join us for a ***free*** and enlightening session on the practice of Qigong at our April talk in our 'Health Matters' series. NB: Booking essential for this session due to space.
Qigong (pronounced as 'chee' 'gung') is a relatively modern term, originating in the 1950's in China but the actual practices are much older.
'Qigong' describes movements combined with the breath that are designed to maintain or improve health and wellbeing and it was originally part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The Chinese Doctor would prescribe one or two different movements to help with an illness or condition and some of these movements can be traced back several hundred years.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.15pm start.
During the session, Synergy Health Therapist Claire Maclaine (Clarity Welllness) will guide you through:
• a brief introduction to this form of Qigong
• practice of the 3 basis stances: bear, leopard and duck/dragon
• taster session of holistic qigong based on the Shibashi Set 1 movements.
Places are limited to 10 people due to space.
Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move around easily in and flat soled shoes. Movements can be performed standing or seated.
To ensure we have enough room for the taster session - booking is essential.
